The Kansas City Royals re-sign Brandon Duckworth

The Royals have re-signed 32-year old righty Brandon Duckworth to a 1-year contract and then they outrighted him to AAA to create a roster spot. This was a smart move for both Duckworth and the Royals as he will come in and try to earn a spot on the pitching staff without being on the 40-man roster over the winter. Duckworth pitched in 7 games (all starts) with the Royals last season and he was 3-3 with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP. In three years with the Royals, Duckworth has pitched in 43 games (18 starts) and he is 7-13 with a 5.11 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP.
