The Royals have placed starting 3B Alex Gordon on the 15-day disabled list with a torn quadriceps muscle. Gordon has played in 122 games for the Royals this season and he is 114 for 448 (.254 avg, .769 OPS) with 64 runs scored, 14 homers, 51 RBIs and 7 stolen bases. The Royals will replace Gordon with Mark Teahan who has been playing 1B and the outfield this season. Teahan has played in 116 games for the Royals this season and he is 109 for 441 (.247 avg, .698 OPS) with 53 runs scored, 10 homers and 42 RBIs. The Royals will miss Gordon as he’s a pretty good all around young player.
