The Royals have placed righty starting pitcher Luke Hochevar on the 15-day disabled list due to a contusion of his ribcage. He has started 22 games for the Royals this season and he was 6-12 with a 5.51 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. The Royals haven’t decided who will replace Hochevar in the rotation yet. Lefty reliever Josh Newman was recalled to replace Hochevar on the active roster. Newman has pitched in 4 games (0 starts) for the Royals this season and he is 0-0 with a 7.71 ERA and a 2.29 WHIP. Hochevar looks like he might be a good pitcher in the future for the Royals as he has really good stuff.
